Hugh Flynn is a prolific composer of electronic and orchestral music.
He began composing in 1978. His earliest compositions were for synthesizers and string machines.
From the beginning the music spanned comfortably across many genres, but has never been a fusion of prescribed musical styles, or written to a formula.
Synthesizers, orchestral instrument voices and samples have been intricately interwoven to form a unique type of music.
Each musical work uses several musical ideas in rapid succession to tell a story and build a sonic sculpture. It needs to be listened to in its entirety to be fully appreciated.
This site contains a huge catalogue of Hugh Flynn's music. There are about 30 albums of music to audition and download.

Symphonic, nineteenth century romantic composers, Baroque, Celtic, electronic and eastern music.
WHAT CAN BE HEARD FOR FREE:
45 second sections of every audio/music track can be auditioned for free. Go to the Samples/Excepts page, either Mac or Windows operating systems.
The start time of each track can be changed by the minute, so you can actually hear 45 seconds of each minute of every track.
The Samples/Excerpts page is a browser. The albums remain on the left hand side of the page.
When you click on an album icon the track information, and means of auditioning the track, appear on the right hand side of the page.
You can also use Showreel Micra to play 45 seconds of the music along with a video from another web site.
Showreel Micra is located on the same page as the music track, which is initially accessed from the Samples/Excepts page.

SHOWREEL
Showreel plays a clip of selected music from this site along with a video file located elsewhere, and is more like an application than a webpage.
There is restricted access as it is only intended for clients who are looking for music for their audio visual or media project.
Showreel is easy to use and will quickly demonstrate if the selected music clip is suitable for the video media.
The audio and video tracks are played together in 2 separate players.
The length of the audio clip can be changed to play more or less of the music, and can be delayed to start after the video track.
The audio track can also be looped.
Showreel can only give a broad indication of the suitability of a musical track and does not provide a finished audio visual file. There are no facilities provided to save the results as a media file.

The Download Area is a restricted access web page from where the full length MP3 audio files can be downloaded.
For a single small payment on your PayPal account you can have complete access to download all of the full length audio files on this site.

ARCHIVED MUSIC
Music files from 1979 to 1987 originally recorded on cassette. Most were spontaneous recordings with nothing worked out in advance.
