Arc of the Dome was written between May and October 2000 and is the second of six proposed works by Hugh Flynn for a WORLD ORCHESTRAL MUSIC orchestra

The Arc of the Dome is about a journey in South East London from, Charlton Village to the Centre of Greenwich.

It describes the changes to the area over the years leading up to the Millennium celebrations.

The mood at the beginning is overcast and threatening to bring out the mindless juvenile destruction and the general level of crime in the area.

The spiky themes represent the local authority's profligate, insensitive and ugly changes to the fabric and infrastructure of the area.

It's not all bad. Greenwich still has its parks and open areas. It is still one of the greenest areas of London.

The positive side of a multi cultural society has also been incorporated.

Orchestation is similar to his

Wexford Symphony

Saint Brendan Suite
